Driven by the passion for colour and pattern, this project has been inspired by the beautiful, vibrant, luminous and contrasting landscape of London. Here, I find a harmonious blend of history and the present, conventional and the modern, tradition and technology, rhythm and chaos, abstract and mathematical.
My practice is concerned with the preservation of traditional crafts amongst the current global obsession with speed, fast fashion and mass-production. I am greatly interested in new technology in design, and am experimenting with digital design and printing processes. At the same time, I am also committed to using hand-craft production methods in high quality natural materials, thereby adding a novel twist to this collection.
Integrating the most modern -digital print; with the most traditional -hand block-print, this hybrid collection exudes style and simplicity, aiming to be independent of fashion cycles.
At Zamaku Collections, our company based in Mumbai, India, our work is distinctly individualistic in style, simple and deeply rooted in Indian ethos. Quality and longevity in design is core to our work, and that reflects in all the timeless collections produced by us. We use only azo-free dyes and natural materials.
