I am a printed textile designer with an interest in abstract pattern design and its potential to communicate, intrigue and inspire. For my MA project I have developed a collection of fabrics, wallpapers and products applicable for contemporary urban interiors. The designs are based on deconstructing elements of the natural environment to develop unfamiliar abstract motifs that possess a fantastical, otherworldly quality.

The ambiguous nature of the motifs invites audience dialogue and participation by giving rise to a variety of interpretations. The designs also subtly allude to the fact that all aspects of the natural world are connected as they share common elements and can be simplified down to similar basic shapes.

The brand conjures up images of fantasy and escape to nature within the home while inspiring new perceptions of the natural world in the audience.
