Embedding Surreal and Psychedelic aesthetics into the mundane.

My work takes inspiration from ordinary things that are mundane yet important. The colors, forms and fluidity that compose psychedelic patterns have been a major source of my interest throughout the MA course. On the other hand, I feel very close to surrealism especially in terms of this practice because I am interested in detaching stereotypes associated with objects and use their shape and form as an aesthetic. My Aim is to successfully incorporate the aesthetics of ordinary everyday objects into prints into reflect surreal and psychedelic aesthetics.

This wall mural design takes inspiration from bulbs, a light holder and lamp. The colours have been taken in from the surroundings of the bar. The design during the day is calm and cheerful and changes under a UV light transforming the ambiance of the bar.
